MOTTO
Teachers must have high expectations for every student because every student can learn. Hold students accountable at all times, but always remember the importance of building rapport. Teach them to understand and think beyond what is front of them and why it matters. Take advantage of teachable moments and emphasize the big picture in all that they learn and do. Be prepared for every one of your students each and every day. Give students variety while maintaining a core approach. Make content accessible and understandable and be willing to make adjustments when necessary. Finally, model perseverance and emphasize it with all of your students.
SHORT BIO
Teaching was not my first vocation. As a Business Administration/Accounting graduate and later becoming a CPA, I believed wealth was the key to happiness. The corporate world did not provide that for me and I realized that one must do what they like and like what they do. I decided to make a career change wanting to make a real difference in my community. With the support of my wife, I committed myself to become a teacher in my favorite subject and devoted myself to 3 years of Social Science courses, exams, and a teacher preparation program. It’s the best decision I’ve ever made.
