SHORT BIO
Scott Petri has taught social studies in LAUSD since 2003. He served as a pilot teacher for CRF's Civic Action Program. In 2009, Scott’s students won the California Debate Invitational. He was named Outstanding Debate Coach after bringing his team to the National Championships twice. At JFKHS in Granada Hills, Scott has been awarded a Teacher-Impact Grant from ASCD and a Keeping History Alive Grant from APU. Delivering MOOCs for NCSS and others, he has taught professional development to over 10,000 educators. Scott holds a Doctorate in Educational Leadership and a Masters in Educational Administration from California State University Northridge, and a B.A. in Political Science from the University of San Diego.
